I think I figured it out. In the cutscene's Inspector under Properties I set the "When Running:" form to "Run In Background" and it gave me the freedom I needed.

I tried searching but couldn't find an answer anywhere. I was thinking about upgrading to unity 6 when it drops in a few weeks, but I was wondering if that was going to be feasible with regards to AC. Should I stay on an older version...?
I had been tampering with Unreal for the last few years just for animation purposes but the only thing that kept me married to Unity was AC. Ultimately, wherever AC goes, I will go too. It's a great tool and opened so many opportunities for me.
