Oh I see, you can right click in project and create->ac->actionlist. and paste them in there, then load new scene and get them from there, but unfortunately all the things they reference are gone, ie characters, paths etc? Is there another way…

It appears to work fine in a fresh project actually, so it must be something to do with my project :-( Been holding me up for days now this, do you have any suggestions, basically the AC menu is not showing at the top of unity for me anymore.

edit: I suspect it wont work actually, I kind of noticed many of my assets have gone from the tools/windows dropdowns so I think unity may have changed the way asset devs hook into these menus or something.
Thanks Chris, Im not sure why but it worked when I wrote a script to simply turn AC on slightly after UFPS, even the menus look right this way, despite them being small when I did the same thing manually. So far so good will report if I work out why…
