Prevent selected item drop into inventory.

Is there an easy way or trick to prevent a selected item from being put back into the inventory, while still allowing it to be combined with another item in the inventory?

Is the item in the Inventory to begin with?
You can use the Inventory: Select Action to manually select an Item, optionally without it being in the player's Inventory.
