Is it possible to "link" other plugin's SFX to AC?

Hey! I'm not sure if I'm wording this correctly but I'm using the COZY plugin which also serves as a pretty cool ambience mixer for both VFX and SFX. Is it possible to somehow link the audio that the plugin is making to the SFX/Music so I can turn the volume up or down in the game's settings? Basically, as it is now it is completely disconnected from the AC which isn't much of an issue since it's connected to the scene itself but... It would be great if I could control the audio from within the game itself.

Is this possible?

  • I'm not familiar with the specifics of the asset, but this should be possible if you rekly on Audio Mixer Groups - a tutorial can be found here.

Once set up, it should then just be a case of having the other asset's AudioSource components rely on AC's SFX/Music mixers.

  • Thank you, Chris! I knew it was possible. Honestly, it never ceases to amaze me how there's always a solution. You really made something incredible.

That being said I since realized that although the plugin's ambience mix is nice it will be smarter to use AC ambience for the extra control.

But maybe as a little suggestion – what I liked about the mixer was its weighted chance to play sounds, essentially you can put X sounds into it and give them a chance to be played and even stuff like "never play this, if this one plays". It makes for decent control while also having it a little different every time. I'm not sure if something like this is achievable in AC (maybe with random variables) but could be cool to add something like that if you ever were to add more functions to the ambience!
