3D Lights and Layering

Hi,
i am trying to set up a scene with 3D lights (standard lighting)
the problem that accurs is that the light is "cutting" the scenery, (of course there are seperate layers, but should be affected as one layer. if the lights are off, there is no cutting visible)

it also depends on the ordering number and layer.
i use the shader "sprites/difuse"

am i something missing how to use 3d lights with AC properly?
mmh.
maybe the community here knows something about it?
thank you!

  • it also depends on the ordering number and layer.

    In what way?

AC's "Follow Sorting Map" component will affect a character sprite's order number/layer, but otherwise this will be left alone. As it's not a graphics tool, AC still relies on Unity for all rendering, and doesn't change the behaviour of lights.

I'd expect this same issue would occur without AC. If you're having trouble with sprite lighting, I'd recommend getting things looking correct without AC first - so that it at least can be ruled out as a contributing factor. There's not much to go on from the screenshot, but it's likely this is more of a Unity issue.

  • thanks chris, indeed its a unity issue.
