Changing MusicEngine values in game?

Hi there,
I was wondering if it were possible to change the MusicEngine audiosource value while in game?
I have this:

With the MusicEngine attached as the audiosource but when I press play, it changes the audiosource to "none" and doesn't seem to recognise it, maybe it's a new object altogether? I just thought because it was a prefab...
Does anyone know of a way to do this?

EDIT:
Sorry don't worry, I made a code attached to the musicengine that checks whether the 'soundtype' is 1 or 2 and depending on the result, the variable changes, and so far it works.
