Does AC come with any system or functionality to enforce billboarding on a gameobject? More than happy to custom script this to always face the camera, but figured it was worthing learning if AC had anything under the hood.
2D characters, by default, have their sprites rotated to face the camera at all times - see the 2D Demo's player, Brain.
This is achieved by placing the sprite as a child of the root object, and defining it as the "Sprite child" in the Character's Inspector. This works in both 2D and 3D scenes.
