New to Unity & AC

We recently purchased AC during the May sale. We have reviewed the Unity Interface & Essentials topic you recommended from a previous discussion, your 2D demo video and Isaac Lungren's Youtube video about AC which did make some sense and was helpful.

Can we import Unity Asset store graphics like simple 2D backgrounds, characters etc into AC to possibly get started learning more easily or do we need to make our own graphics like Issac Lundgren did in his video and his Udemy course and import them into AC. Hopefully it is not a stupid question! Thanks

You can use any 2D art assets you like - including those used by the demo game when it comes to learning to use AC.  AC is not a graphics tool, so generally if Unity can display it, AC can use it.

The only thing you really need to be aware of is the potential need to write a custom integration script if you want to make use of a new animation system, e.g. Anima2D (though there already exist scripts and forum threads for help with that as well).
