Autodesk Character Creator blendshapes seem to fail with AC's Shapeable.

This might be out of the scope of this forum, as Autodesk's Character Creator has little to do with AC. But anyway, AC seems to only use the first (phoneme) key through Shapeable, when using a Unity-rigged Autodesk Creator character with NPC+Hotspot attached as normal.
In contrast, Mixamo character blendshapes work with Shapeable as expected.
Any insights or suggestions perhaps?

Comments

  • Do they appear as Blendshapes in the Skinned Mesh Renderer, as they would coming from any other tool?  If so, it may be an issue with the model, as the Shapeable script is accessing Blendshapes through the Unity API.

An alternative method of animating blendshapes with phonemes is to animate them as a sub-layer of your animator, and defining a "Phoneme integer" parameter in your character's Inspector that is also used to transition between separate phoneme animations.
  • Thanks, Chris!
Some threads on the Autodesk forum suggest that this is indeed an issue with the Autodesk CC models.
