Turn on Unity variable through script

Hi, I am looking to turn on a global variable in unity through a script, and bless my cotton socks, but I don't know how. Is this a simple thing you could let me know here?

By that, do you mean one not in AC?  That would depend on the nature of the script its written in, which you haven't shared.
