Not officially, but AC does support custom camera types - see Section 4.6 of the Manual.
AC requires that its own "MainCamera" prefab is the only active one in the scene, and it will copy the values of whatever the current "Active GameCamera" is, which is set through AC's Scene Manager and Camera: Switch Action.
While the included "Basic camera" script can be attached to a custom camera type to make it visible to AC's MainCamera, it is currently assumed to be 3D and thus will perform 3D raycasts instead of 2D.
This script is isolated from the rest of AC (that is, there are no references made to it elsewhere), meaning it can be modified to suit your own needs.
