Can you tag objects to make the player stop walking towards them

I have a character running on a navmesh. Its all good, when I click something thats not a part of the navmesh, the character still walks towards it. Right now im putting hotspots on everything to make the character idle when click on them, but its getting a bit annoying

    Please re-phrase and provide more detail - it's not clear what you mean.  Screenshots in particular would be helpful.
