Action Switch Portrait wrong after save/load

edited July 2014 in Technical Q&A
I noticed that when I perform some action that makes the portrait change from the original, and then I reload a previous position saved before this action, the portrait showed is the new one and not the initial one.

Example:
Talk with npc1
Portrait with hat
SAVE GAME1
Take npc1 hat
Change portrait to Portrait without hat
Talk with npc1
Portrait without hat
LOAD GAME1
Talk with npc1
Portrait without hat (!)

I don't take his hat anymore...

The npc have the Remember npc, name and transform.

Bye and tx

  • Place your portrait textures in a Resources folder - AC can't see them when saving data otherwise.
  • Done, but still the same problem.
I resolved by using a variable that is checked in the cutscene OnLoad. When npc is without hat that variable becaome true and its portrait change or not in that cutscene.
    Thanx in any case Chris.
    Bye
  • I appreciate you working around it, but it's important that the feature works as intended!

Are both graphics in Resources folders, and are their filenames unique?
  • Of course, right!

My portrait are in Resources\2d_portrait subfolder and filenames are unique.

There shouldn't be the subfolder to work correctly?
  • It shouldn't matter.  I will double-check the feature still works as intended.
