2d character animation

Hi everyone,
I know, this question was mentioned few times but n this forum but I want to make things clear(for me):
What technique can be used to animate the character, except loading frame animation(like in 2d demo)?
What I found for current purpose:
http://www.puppet2d.com/
http://anima2d.com/
http://creature.kestrelmoon.com/
https://brashmonkey.com/
http://esotericsoftware.com/
http://www.echo17.com/smoothmoves.html

May some of these plugins be used to animate the character inside AC?

Maybe AC supports some type of bone or IK animation?
Thank you for answer.

  • Hi KosMalakhov.

The list of tools you mentioned have quite different scope, and not all of them serve the purpose equally. In any case, there is also a puppet tool for After Effect (check this).

Coming to your question, you ask the following: "May some of these plugins be used to animate the character inside AC?" : the answer is sure, all of them can be used, as you can integrate AC with any script/engine you like, inside Unity.

But if your question actually was different, and you meant "Does AC provide native support for any of these tools?", then the answer is no: AC is flexible enough to let you integrate your favorite 2D skeletal tool, and it would not make sense for the developer of AC to keep updating the support for multiple 3rd party assets.

Please check @ChrisIceBox' comment to my thread: Spine Integration : it totally makes sense, but of course it requires you to get familiar with external dev tools.

    Hope this helps

  • My animations are done using a series of sprites in png format.

I should have probably used sprites sheets, but to late now xD
