Subtitles not above Character

edited December 2015 in Technical Q&A
Hello,

I have a small weird issue.

My subtitles are set to be above characters, and up until this point works great.

But have created this one character (as seen in video) where his subtitles are off centred.

It's like the are locked to the top left of the character, or the character is bottom right of the subtitles.

Please see video below for issue and clarification on what I'm describing.

Any ideas why this would be the case for this one character?

Thanks

Gav

  • Check that the character's "Sprite child" is at 0,0,0 position - the
subtitles menu will use the character's root position as the basis for
it's own, so if the sprite child is not at the same point then that
    could cause such an issue.

yea both are 0. checked this, thought i showed this in video.

Only offset is the main gameobject that is parented to the _NPC object.

and the sprite pivot is centered of the image
  • The video only showed the root object - I was referring to the sprite child specifically.  The sprite pivot for character sprites should generally be at the base by their feet, however.

Test a zoomed-out camera that places the NPC in the centre of the screen.  Does the issue persist?
