No Dialogue Portrait if "Is Player is checked"

Hi all, I've run into quite a strange problem while trying to learn how to lip sync.  I followed the basic dialogue portrait tutorial first and worked fine.  Then i did the sound speech tutorial and seemed fine.  Then i did the lip sync tutorial and the portrait just doesn't show up anymore, i even back tracked and just did the basic portrait tutorial and it still will not work! the sound plays, but no graphics come up no matter what i do.  I did discover while messing with the used hotspot, that if "is player" isn't checked, it'll then show the portrait for some reason.

Could there be something that forces off menus when speech sound is enabled?

It may well be to do with the errors showing in your Console.  Be sure to re-import the PersistentEngine prefab when upgrading to v1.49a.

1.49a is the version i started with, and i dont see those errors anymore, I guess I can try re-installing AC?
