I'm afraid I don't know what you mean. What is deforming? If you can post screenshots or more clearly describe the problem, I shall do my best to help.
Two things to keep in mind, however:
If your NavMesh has holes in it, make sure the NavMesh has unit scale (1,1,1). This is due toa bug that will be fixed in v1.50.
Make sure that your character's "Sprite child" object as zero position (0,0,0). Check your Console for any error messages.
