Change raycast length custom action

I need to change the navmesh and hotspot raycast lengths in some scenes, but I have no coding knowledge so I quickly hit a dead end when trying to write a custom action as described here:

Changing raycast length between scenes seems like it would be a pretty useful function for most AC users, if not essential, any chance at uploading a custom action, or eventually adding that as a standard action?

It's something to think about.  But in the meantime, if you show what you wrote so far, it may be easy to solve your dead-end.
