Camera Y-Axis Rotating Opposite Direction

edited June 2014 in Technical Q&A
I just started following the tutorials for AC today. I've been able to add a character and camera, but when I unlock the Y-axis rotation, the camera appears to be trying to follow the player, but it turns in the opposite direction.

I captured a gif of it in action: https://i.imgur.com/C6tMHeG.gif

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Edit: The "Affected By" Setting was set to "Target X" in that screenshot... I think what I wanted was "Look at target" maybe? It still seems like it shouldn't be rotating like that either way. Look at Target is working well though.

  • All you'd need to do is invert the influence: it uses the target's X co-ordinate in World Space, so if your Character was walking in the negative X-direction it'll be "read" as a decrease (even if the camera is looking at it from the other way).  A negative influence should sort it.
  • That worked. Thank you!
