Warning in Dialog: Start conversation

Hello,

After upgrading to this new version of AC, I get this warning after clicking (starting a conversation with) an NPC.
'Dialog: Start conversation' Action cannot override conversation options when placed in an asset file.

The conversation doesn't start and I only get this warning.

I got all the conversations for each NPC in an asset file, and I've checked override options.

Comments

  • The warning is there because it's technically not possible to override conversations within an asset file.  It's unfortunate, but just the way it has to be.

    You will either have to move your Actions that control the conversation to a scene-based ActionList, such as a Cutscene, or uncheck the override feature and use DialogOptions defined in the Conversation itself to dictate what happens.
  • Was this due to a change in new Unity upgrades or AC upgrades?
    It was working before I upgraded both unity and AC...

    In truth, I'm having a hard time remembering.  It's something I want to have, and will try again to make this a feature in the next release.  What was the version you upgraded from?
