activity button

why is it when I click on the activity button above. it returns a message I don't have permission to do that

    You shouldn't - but I don't know how to remove the link to it, I'm afraid.  Please ignore it.

    "I wouldn't change a file...
    Instead go to the Dashboard-->Roles&Permissions-->Clik on "Edit" for members-->And uncheck view "activity"
    I would repeat the steps for the other type of users, such as Guests and Applicants"

    That's exactly what I followed, as it happened - but it had no effect.  Thanks for the search, though.
