Flickering on Sequential Cutscene Movies

When add short movies sequentially on ActionList Editor, flickering occurs on transition times. I tried to encode the movies in different formats, but the problem couldn't be solved.

  • Welcome to the forum, @sunshine.

On what platform does this occur?  I believe this is likely an issue with Unity, since AC simply makes use of Unity's movie playback functions to perform this.
  • Thanks @ChrisIceBox

This occurs on Windows platform. When I run the scene by clicking play button, it plays normally, but when I build the game and run (on my computer or on a different computer), flickering occurs. May it be related to action list, or can it be solved by preloading videos? By the way, since Unity cannot detect the length of some movies, I pause engine to play video until the video finishes. The videos were converted from flic format to ogv format using ffmpeg.
  • By the way, the game will be open source. If it will be better to have the project, I can commit the project to Sourceforge.net (of course without Adventure Creator asset).
  • @ChrisIceBox
The project can be downloaded from link "Download Snapshot" on
    http://sourceforge.net/p/dedektiffirtina/code/ci/master/tree/DedektifFirtina/
If it is possible for you, can you please look at Giris.scene file? I worked so much to solve this problem, but I couldn't solve the flickering problem. I want to know this problem is related to whether Adventure Creator or Unity. If you don't have time, can anybody look at this flickering problem?
  • If this is a problem with AC, I'm happy to see to it.  However, please only include the minimum-needed files needed to see the problem.  Currently the snapshot is almost 500Mb - too much for me to download.

That said, it's very likely that this issue is unique to your system and graphics card.  Have you tried enabling VSync in your game's Quality settings?

Thank you for letting me know about your open source intentions.  So long as you do not include Adventure Creator itself, you can make it available wherever you like.
  • I prepared a project containing only the animation screen and zipped/password protected it. I sent you a message containing the link and password (to protect my Adventure Creator license).

VSync was already enabled, I tried to disable, but nothing changed. In addition, the built executable does flickering on the other computers.

By the way, the game is only in Turkish language for now, but in the future it will also be in English language. The animation scene doesn't contain any language-specific information.
    Thanks for your help @ChrisIceBox.
  • I found that the problem is related to Unity's video support, not
related to Adventure Creator. I wrote a script without using action
manager, but the problem hasn't been solved. Thanks again @ChrisIceBox for your help and suggestions
    related to movie problem.

I wanted to write this just for information.
