Hotspot Detection: Mouse Over - Limit Detection Distance?

Is there a way to set a maximum distance for which Mouse Over hotspot detection will highlight hotspots?

Yes - it's the Hotspot ray length field in the Settings Manager. Look under Raycast settings.
