Why use AC's Collision Cubes instead of a Box/Mesh collider on the geometry?

I watched the 3d Demo video and noticed that AC's Collision Cubes are used for all of the collision areas.  This seems incredibly time consuming to create custom collision cubes for all the geometry.  Why not just select all of the items and add either a mesh collider or box collider instead?  Seems faster and just as effective, unless I'm missing something?

Thanks!

  • You can, of course.  I was just showing how to use prefabs in the Scene Manager - somtimes using a Mesh Collider might not be the best way to do it, so the intention was to show a way that'll always get what you need.  But if you know what you're doing, you can use your own colliders, for sure.
  • Thanks for the clarification, Chris.
