Possible Bug: Trigger "Cancels interactions?" option blocks player from passing through

Unsure if this is a bug or if there's a workaround.

However, following the 2.5D tutorial, when I create the "GuardSpotter" hotspot and tick the "Cancels interactions?" option, this turns the trigger into an impassable (invisible) barrier.

The player can no longer move past it. Disabling "Cancels interactions?" allows the player to pass through the trigger again.

(I'm not sure if "Cancels interactions?" is even necessary though, as trying to move through the trigger still activates the cutscene, and the player is immediately forced to face the guard, then booted. So it seems like interactions are canceled, even without "Cancel interactions?" ticked.)

  • Good spot! It does look like that can be left unchecked.

Typically this is checked if you want to cancel an upcoming Interaction, when the Player passes through the Trigger as the result of clicking a Hotspot.

Calling the Stop Moving command in the Character: Move along path Action actually serves the same purpose - the Interaction will be cancelled with this command as well, so the Trigger property can be safely unchecked.

  • Ah, so that's why the movement to the Hotspot is cancelled -- the first item in the ActionList uses the Stop Moving method.

Thank you for the clarification, Chris!
