Player Subtitle

Hi,
I have a problem with the subtitle. I'm using speech bubble and i want to see the subtitle above the player. But it doesn't work i don't know why. In the AC menu i put above the player, and in the inspector everything is correctly assigned.
Any suggestion?

  • Welcome to the community, @Porkorosso.

When you say it doesn't work, what is the behaviour you're getting? If the Menu uses Unity UI, be sure to assign a "RectTransform boundary", which is what AC will reposition.

The Downloads page has a "Speech bubble" template - is this what you're using? It should appear above the speaker by default.

  • Hi Cris, thank you so much for the quick response. I managed to solve it in the end; in the Inspector under "Dialogue," in the "Speech menu placement" field, I had set it to the Player's sprite instead of leaving it on the default "None." But since I have you here, I have another question: when using the speech bubble, is there an easy way to make the arrow switch to the right or left based on the player's position?

  • That should be the default behaviour - again, are you using the template provided? Any screenshots you can share that show the issue will help clarify the situation.

  • I would like to post the screenshot, but i don't know why, the forum ask me only the URL. I don't know if i'm becoming stupid or the is some kind of forum's rule

  • You can't upload images here, but you can upload them to e.g. imgur.com and post the links.

  • Ok.

As you can see, the tip is pointing to the right while the player is on the left. I would like it to appear facing the player's face

  • Thanks for the details.

I've updated the Speech Bubble template with.a fix - re-download and import it, and it should work.

  • Ok. Many thanks Chris, really appreciate
