Freeform Draggable Objects 2D AC

Hi!

I'd like to ask for some advice on the best way to achieve a freeform draggable object in 2D Adventure Creator.

For context, I'd like to create a close-up of a computer monitor. I'd like to add a little boot sequence, and once that is done, allow the user to drag the icons around the "desktop" freely. I have a pretty good idea of how to create draggable objects using tracks, but is there a way, for example, to drag the icon freely by pressing and holding over it, while also making it clickable with a single or double-click? I don't really want to get too bogged down with this, so if it's overly complicated, I can just leave the icons static and clickable by using simple Hotspots or Buttons, or limit the draggable aspect with tracks.

Thank you in advance for the reply. Have a wonderful weekend.

  • The "Item arranging" package on the Downloads page provides 2D object-dragging. The example scene's jigsaw pieces can be picked up and dropped freely.

I'm not sure if they support regular Hotspot interactions via a click, but I'll take a look.

  • I can work with this! Thank you! They do seem to support regular hotspot interactions. I just need to figure out how to handle clicking and dragging at the same time. Thank you again for this.
