Engine Wait

Hello dear community,

I have an inventory set to paused when enabled and inside it I have a button that runs an actionlist. I unchecked "unfreeze pasue menus?" because I have enemies in the scene and other objects that I prefer to stay paused. However, the issue is when I use engine wait, or any kind of wait like "wait until finish" it gets stuck in that action and wont move to the next action. Its crucial that I use the wait to make smooth transitions.

  • What's your AC version, is the ActionList an asset, and when/how are you running it?

    If the ActionList is an asset, set to "Pause Gameplay", and unfreeze pause menus is unchecked, then the wait should occur in real-time.

    When the inventory is opened and the game is paused, I have a button that when I press it, it will run the actionlist asset to do some stuff like fade - wait until finish and engine - wait but its not doing neither because the game is paused, so it is stuck on the wait action.

  • Unchecking Unfreeze 'Pause' menus? should allow for this - I've tested this with both Engine: Wait and Camera: Fade, and they run correctly on my end.

    With the Camera: Fade Action, however: you'll need to set the Behaviour when paused to Continue to allow the fade to occur while the game is paused.
