Game Camera focus on object similar to First Person Camera

Hello,

I wanted to ask and see if there was a similar way to make a Game Camera pan and focus over an object similar to how the camera acts in First Person mode when you use the "Character: Face Object" action?

My Movement Method is currently 'Direct', and the context of the situation is:

You are viewing the player character through a telescope from far away. You currently use the mouse to move the camera left/right/up/down and use WASD to control the character being viewed in the telescope. I was wanting the camera to pan over to the character being viewed when they interact with a Hotspot.

I really like how the camera behaves when in the First Person movement method and how it will focus on a Hotspot and was wondering if the same is doable with the camera in the 'Direct' control method. Thank you for any assistance!

  • What camera type are you using, if not a first-person one, to move the camera with the mouse? If it's a custom one, you could incorporate the behaviour into the script.

    Though, I'd say the easiest way would be to use a separate GameCamera: one at the same position, but with its "Spin rotation" panel's Affected by set to Look At Target. It'd then just be a case of using the Camera: Switch Action to temporarily transition to it during the interaction.
