Effecting background music.

I have a location where music is playing from the inside. I am trying to stay away from using audio middleware and would need a muffled music to be heard from outside a building that continues seamlessly as a clear version when moving inside.

Chris I just wanted to pick your brain on how to achieve this effect before I go into it. Should I somehow add support to cross fade 2 tracks together using a shared play position, or should I somehow effect the background music with Unity audio effects and change that effect when going in the location?

  • I might want to use this effect in multiple places now that I think of it.

  • Oh well, never mind I made it with a script setting the AC _Music mixed output for the music at scene start and allowing me to send it to a "suppressed" or "unsuppressed" mixer. Works great!
