Hi, just wondering if there's any plans to add an 'Objective' parameter type to action lists? I'd like to play a flourish, pop up an 'objective added' dialogue when an objective changes, etc. Would be nice to have a single action list that does this.
Is there another way to do this currently? Thanks!
It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

Welcome to the community, @biggiantjar.
You can have text pop up when an Objective changes by adding an "Objective/Update" event in the Events Editor.
This is a feature new to v1.78, but a tutorial that describes something similar can be found here.
Currently though, you wouldn't be able to show dynamic content with this technique - given the lack of an Objective parameter, as you say. At the moment, it'd be a case of showing some generic text (e.g. "Objective added") - but I'll give this some thought, and look into how possible it would be to add this. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you and thanks for all of your continuing work on this engine. There seems to be a sane way to do just about anything you can think of regardless of how 'non-standard' it is.
Yes, I'd managed to do something similar with an action list, just a generic 'objective updated' menu pop-up being manually triggered with no further details. Hadn't actually noticed the events editor in all of the playing around I've done (I guess because it's out-of-the-way in the file menu), but looks good. I'll use that for the generic objective popup for now, and I'll need an 'item added' pop up as well, but looks like that's covered.
Thanks! Hope adding adding an objective parameter doesn't turn out to be too difficult.
No problem - I can confirm it'll be available in the next update.
That's great! Thanks very much for the quick feature add
