Question regarding portrait fade in dialog

I've set up a very short fade of 0.2 seconds between portrait dialogs. It works great when transitioning between two different characters speaking. But when it's the same character that has multiple dialogs in a row, it creates kind of a glitchy blink as it transitions from and to the same character portrait in 0.2 seconds. Is there a way to fix this? Perhaps a way to have AC skip the fade when the next dialog in the actionlist is spoken by the same character?

  • If necessary, a custom script could be used to handle the display of the Menu based on speech events.

However, I'm not able to recreate such an issue if the Subtitle menu's Duplicate for each line? property is unchecked, and the Speech Manager's Initial post-line delay (s) value is set to zero.

Are both of these the same on your end?

  • Duplicate for each line was checked, unchecking it fixed my problem! Thanks Chris!
