Follow Sorting Map Impacts Layer but not Scale

edited January 2023 in Technical Q&A

Hi! Updated this after a lot of debugging, sorry if you read the initial post within the hour I made it, I've narrowed down my issue a little bit!

Running into some weird behavior I could use a hand debugging. I'm using Spine 2D nested under a Player object. With Follow Sorting Map, if I use it on the nested spine files I can get the sorting layers to impact the player (which is good!). But I can't get the scaling to impact the character. I tried applying the Follow Sorting Map to the Player object but because it is the root object it gets disabled on start. Is there a way to have the sorting map impact the child spine objects scale? Should I nest the player obj in another obj so I can apply the Follow Sorting Map to that? Not sure best practices here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help! Happy new year :)

  • Fixed!! I had to create an obj between the player and the spine files and apply Follow Sorting Map to that inbetween object
