Run Sequence variables not working

edited December 2021 in Technical Q&A

Hi,

So I am using the variable: run sequence to ensure different outcomes are determined on the amount of times a hotspot is used, ie 1st hotspot use results in first possible value outcome, and second hotspot use the second (and staying on the second outcome for future interactions of this hotspot) - however this doesn't seem to be working in build. Unless I have the use case of this function wrong?

See screenshot to see what i mean, 1st time used player says dialogue then the scene changes, second time hotspot used it should not say the dialogue and change scene. my build continually uses the 2st outcome however.

  • Your screenshot shows two such Actions. Does this issue occur with both, or just one?

You mention not working in build - is this to say it works in the Editor? What platform are you building to, and what are your AC/Unity versions?

Try rebuilding the Action - not copy/pasting it - and use it to replace the existing one.

It never gets to play the second one. And this happens for all my run sequence variables. And in actual fact this happens in editor too when in play mode. See screenshot, not sure why it doesn't work:

    UNITY: 2020.3.21f1
    AC: V1.74.2

  • You said it runs the "2st" outcome - do you mean 1st or 2nd?

I cannot recreate any issue with the Action. Is this corrected by checking "Save sequence value?" to map it to an Integer variable?

  • it only ever plays the 1st output, never the second. I guess i will try mapping it
