Player Character Disappears in Build

edited May 2021 in Technical Q&A

I was trying to make an HTML build and my player character disappears.

It seems I can still move around and the NPC I have does still track "the player" however I cannot trigger any cutscene and my name is gone. (My hypothesis as to why I can still move is that Adventure Creator has some catch-all to make something the player? And somehow my gameobject is being deleted when making a build?)

More interestingly if I make a build for PC, the character seems to be fine.

What is it that I seem to be missing?

  • I'm not sure what I did besides move the PlayerStart marker, but it works now!

AC doesn't require a Player character, so it won't do anything to enforce which Player is currently assigned.

It may have been an occlusion issue, where the character's boundary was mistakenly considered hidden from the camera view. It may be worth checking the bounds of their Skinned Mesh Renderer, and that their Animator's Culling Mode is set to Always Animate.
