Switching from PC to Android deployment makes AC lock up.

I was having an issue with my app when I switched from PC to Android.
The app would load perfect but if I moved the camera around in first
person the view would freeze and look like the camera was looking into
space. After messing with every setting I could find I found this post.

If I create a new project and switch to Android BEFORE installing AC and switching to first person it works fine. If I start fresh again and install AC before switching to android and first person I get it to lock up. I took a snapshot.

Since I switch between platforms allot this pretty much puts a stop on development till I can get past this.

  • I forgot to add that the test above was done with the Demo installed with AC. Only thing I changed was the first person setting , Touch drag-drag affects and Touch screen settings.

  • Thank you for the alert - I will look into this for you.  But by "lock up", you mean you get the blue background?  How long before that happens?  Any extra detail you can give will help a lot.
  • Yes, I get a blue background as if I was looking into the
skybox. I select build and run using first person settings while my Android
tabled it connected to by usb. Once it’s done building with no errors the game
starts perfect with your intro and the background prop falling down and Tinpot
willing to help. As the game goes into play mode all I have to do is swipe left
or right and it seems like the camera just breaks to a blue screen. At first I thought
I was falling past the floor but with your demo even the menu buttons stop
working.  If demo is left in click mode
    there is no lockup.
  • You mean, if you run on Android, but in Point And Click mode, then it works?
  • Yes. The issue is only for first person and only if I install AC while in PC mode. If I first switch Unity to Android mode Before installing AC everything works fine. I will run the tests once again to double confirm this setup flow.
  • I think I found the root of the issue. It may not be related to the pc to android switch but I can reproduce the same exact error every time. Drag cursor with touch setting makes it blue screen each time. If I turn it off I can confirm it does not blue screen anymore. At least with these tests. I might of forgot to check that on when I first switched from PC to Android.

I also ran my app and this also stopped the blue screens. To be honest I don't know if I need this option. Can you tell me what it would be used for?

  • It's an alternative way of positioning the cursor that some games provide: rather than touching the screen at the point you want, you instead drag an on-screen cursor around.  Thanks, this should make it easier to fix.
