HotSpot Cursor not working in 2D Demo

Hi,
I just bought AC and I am trying to figure out how to use custom cursors.
I have read a couple of posts that suggest looking at the exit left and right hotspots in the 2DDemo, however, when I run the 2D Demo and move my cursor the the edge of the screen - the cursor does not change - it always stays a little circle.

How come the left and right arrow cursors don't show up?

Thanks

  • FYI - I have Unity 4.6.2
  • Have you assigned the proper managers?  You'll need to click "Adventure Creator -> Getting started -> Assign 2D Demo Managers" before you run the scene.  I apologise if that's obvious, but that's the first thing I'd check in this situation.
  • Hi Chris,
Yes I have done that - the demo runs perfectly, everything works fine with the exception of the exit cursors.

    Cheers
  • Sorry for posting in a dead thread, but I ran into the same issue myself now.

It seems it's because there is no 'Go To' Interaction in the Menu Manager, and the hotspots are outside the bounding box.

  • Welcome to the community, @frilansninja.

The use of the Interaction menu for Hotspots is based on the Hotspot's properties and the Settings Manager's Interaction settings.

In the 2D Demo, the "Exit" icon is not used in a Menu. Instead, the Hotspot's Single 'Use' interaction? option is checked, which causes the icon to be used for the cursor, instead of being part of the Menu.

Are you having an issue with the cursor reaching the far left edge of the 2D Demo? The camera should scroll with the Player as they move sideways.

If you can share full details in a new thread, I can take a look and see what's wrong.
