Hello everyone,
after doing some other things for 3 years I'm back with AC and Unity and loving it. Right now im looking into creating some kind of Disco Elysium camera where it follows the player over the whole map without the possibility to scroll. But my recent attempts led always to loosing the player somehow. Has anyone done this (probably) and can help me with that?
Thanks in advance!
It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

If you'd like to share screenshots of your existing camera and issue, I'll see if I can spot the problem.
However, you might find that the "Isometric Camera" package over on the Downloads page provides the behaviour you're looking for.
Thank you, this looks (from the screenshot) exactly what I would need. If that does not work I can post the screenshot later!
@ChrisIceBox quick follow up when I hit play the camera jumps to different coordinates. I tried using the prefab and creating it with AC Settings. Any idea why?
Can you share screenshots/video? I'll need to see the situation in more detail.
Yes, here it is https://1drv.ms/v/c/122755dae2799a57/EcsbYVtQK_hPl-pLch4hahsBPd_CRdHYFvVJ5Uj_s-v2sg?e=C218MA
Thanks.
AC will control the camera's position from the settings in its Inspector. Rather than setting its position using the Scene Window's gizmo, adjust the Offset values in its Inspector while in Play mode until they are correct. Then, copy the component, exit Play Mode, and paste the values back in so that they exist in Edit Mode.
You mean Offset from Target Object?
Yes, that's the one.
So cool thank you! Btw, is there an option to have a Disco Elysium / Infinity Engine dialog where you pick a sentence and directly get the answer?
Have a look at the "UI template: Chat log" package - also on the Downloads page. It can be customised further via Inspectors or custom scripting, but it sounds similar to what you're describing.
Hey Chris, again thank you very much. This probably the best asset I've ever bought
from Unity to Unreal and back.
I have three questions to the Chat Log:
And should I open a new thread for Chat Log questions?
And how can I remove the delay in between messages.
Configuring the Chat Log is a case of editing the ChatLogUI file that the Template places in your game folder's "Chat Log" subfolder after installation.
In the Chat Log component, uncheck Visible By Default, and then run the package's provided ChatLog_Hide / ChatLog_Show ActionList assets to affect its visibility at runtime.
Open up the ChatLogUI prefab and configure its RectTransform components to reshape and re-align it to the bottom.
Check Show Chosen Options in the Chat Log component.
Messages are shown at the same rate as regular speech. You can reduce this via the Minimum display time (s) and Display time factor fields in the Speech Manager.
Thank you! Im gonna test that later!
Worked well so far. Interestingly. When I shut down Unity and reopen it. I have to reapply the addon because it will show my Ui and Regular Subtitles side by side.
