ActionList Loop issue created in OnStarts

Hello,

I believe I've found an issue that could cause problems for multiple users. The issue is as follows:

In an OnStart ActionList with multiple asset files linked together, click the gray icon to open one of the action lists, then return to OnStart This changes the link between action lists. The full reproduction steps are demonstrated in the attached video.

Thank you!

  • Sorry, but I'm not clear what to be looking for in the video - which links are being affected?

One thing to note: if you want to run multiple ActionLists simultaneously when a scene begins, you don't need to put them all through the "OnStart" cutscene - just attach the ActionList Starter component to the scene and configure it to run your intended list.

Apologies for the confusion; here’s a more detailed explanation to accompany the video:

I’m referring to the blue line that links one ActionList to another. Inside the OnStart section, if you click on the gray icon of an ActionList to open it and view its contents, the blue line unexpectedly shifts, altering the connection between ActionLists. For instance, consider the ActionList with the asset file labeled 'hallway entrance.' When you click to view its contents and then return to OnStart, the connection changes. Instead of being connected to 'Check Enable,' it ends up linked to 'Phone Ring'

  • What's your AC version?

  • I've not updated to the latest version of AC, but this issue has been occurring for a very long time. I just now figured out the steps to reproduce it. It kept happening during my opening cinematic and causing a crash. I knew what was causing the crash but didn’t know how to reproduce it. The Unity version I’m using is 2022.3.37f1, and AC is at version 1.80. For me, it's not a big deal because I know how to avoid it, but if it's a widespread issue, people should be aware. I’ll update to the latest version in a couple of days and post here if it's still occurring.

    Thank you.

  • If you have a scene / set of assets that can be used to reliably recreate the issue, would you be able to PM them to me?

  • Yes. I can reproduce it in any of the scenes, I think. I will try to do that today. Thank you!1
