Speed when walking away from the camera

Is there any way to control the character's speed when he's walking into the screen? I have some scenes with pretty dramatic perspective and the default walking speed looks fairly wrong as the character looks like he's covering huge distances in seconds. There's the setting to "Affect speed?" as well as scale, but is there a way to have more control over that?

    In 2D mode there is an option in the Settings Manager under Camera Settings for "Vertical movement factor", but at the moment it's a global scene scale factor.

    I'm not sure there is a way to do it on a per scene basis without using sorting maps and thus also affecting the character's scale proportionally at the same time.
