Sliding Idle instead of Walk in some areas of scene

In one of my scenes, my player begins to slide at certain points in the scene. See video. Any reasoning as to why this must be? It happens when the player follows a path pr moves to a point (with path find on and off)

  • The video makes it look like the issue occurs at the same time you move the cursor over the menu at the top of the screen. Does this issue occur without such interaction?

What are your Player's walk animation settings?

  • Yes this happens with a static cursor.

here is link to images with walk animation settings:

  • Pause the game at the time the issue occurs and view the live Animator window. What are your parameter values at this time?

  • Idle is animating, FacingAngle is 281.6 - my threshold for Walk is 0, 45, 90, 135, 180 etc like Brain2d_SpritesUnityComplex - could this be the issue? That the FacingAngle is not one of the thresholds at this point?

  • What of the MoveSpeed?

  • edited September 2021

MoveSpeed is 0 when this issue happens. but 1 when normally walking

  • So this happens when clicking on a hotspot and the player walking to a hotspot interaction

  • What are your AC and Unity versions?

Is the Player moving as part of the Interaction ActionList (Character: Move to point), or as part of the Hotspot's Player Action field? Please share screenshots of the relevant Inspector.

Set your Player to the 2D Demo's Brain2D_SpritesUnityComplex prefab - does he exhibit the same issue?

  • AC v174.2 Unity V2020.3.19f1

The player is moving as part of Interaction ActionList (Character: Move to point), ie, Move Along Path in a Cutscene, in Hotspot Use. See screenshots here:

So, Brain2D_SpritesUnityComplex prefab has no issue. It seems that I didn't have fixed duration ticked, so now I have it works!
