[Bug] Hierarchy Misclicks

I have had a recurrent issue where I cannot click on items in the hierarchy list. It's not that my mouse does nothing, it's that when I click, it clicks about two rows higher than where my mouse is, and I cannot select anything at the bottom of the list (even if I compensate by moving the cursor two rows lower)

When open like this, everything clicks fine, but when I open the cutscenes or interactions tab, my mouse cursor didn't make it into the screen cap so I've circled where I was clicking

The list collapses, If I click on the newly collapsed carrot / tab:

The list collapses again. If i try to click the Start object the hierarchy selects this:

Again, I am clicking where is circled in red and the blue strip is what the program actually selects.  I have reinstalled the program and moved this project from one computer to another and the problem has persisted.  Has anyone encountered this problem before and is there a way to fix it?

  • I should add, everything else in Unity works just fine, no misclicks anywhere but the hierarchy window.

Even on scenes without AC? Check if the same thing happens on scenes without AC stuff (just make a new scene and drop objects in it or something). Ummm... this sounds more like a Unity issue, but we won't know until you test that. Also just in case try resetting your window layout to factory defaults. The editor UI in Unity tends to bug out very often.
  • It definitely sounds like a Unity issue.  What versions of both AC and Unity are you using, and do you have any other script assets installed that may be the cause?

AC does have a slight workaround in that you can use the Scene Manager's prefabs list to select objects that are already in the scene (click a prefab type, then use the popup box above to find what you want).  That's far from ideal though, but I'm not sure this is caused by AC itself.
