Skinning the existing menu

edited August 2016 in Technical Q&A
How can i skin the existing menu with my own skin? is it using Unity UI? Any help is appreciated. Just purchased this wonderful asset so I'm a complete newbie.

I found the tutorial on how to create a title menu and will eventually follow that but right now just want to work with the existing menu.  Thanks.

  • Welcome to the community, @Catacomber!

If you've opted to make use of the "Default AC" interface in the New Game Wizard, you'll have all of the demo game's Menus available to you in the Menu Manager.

If you have the Game window open when you select the Menu tab in AC's Game Editor window, you'll be able to preview each Menu as you tweak the controls to style it in the way you want.

By default, these Menus are drawn with AC's built-in system, but you can make use of Unity UI prefabs if you prefer.  Each of the default Menus are already set-up to make use of them - just change a Menu's Source field from Adventure Creator to Unity Ui Prefab.  I would recommend getting to grips with AC's built-in system first, however.  A tutorial on converting AC Menus to Unity UI can be found here.
  • I'm taking your advice and getting to grips with AC's built-in system first. Working through the tutorials and building my little knowledge base.  I really feel comfortable with AC and I've only been using it a few days!  :  )
