Hello, I'm trying to find a way to make my First person camera look at objects inside the scene. So far I can face to them. What I want is for the camera to center on them. Is it possible? Im not using UFPS. Im using AC's first person contoller.
With the Character: Face object Action, and Affect Player? checked, you should get an additional option named FPS head tilt?. Is that not appearing for you? If not, be sure that you are using the latest version.
I downloaded the latest version and I still face towards the object but the camera doesn't fix itself on the object in question. I have followed the steps and ticks you suggested.
So that we can discount the player prefab, place the Demo game's Player character, Tin Pot, into the scene and re-run it. He's set up to work with First Person as well - you can find him in Assets/AdventureCreator/Demo/Resources. Let me know if it works or doesn't work - either way, we'll be closer to knowing the source of the issue.
It isnt the player prefab, I tried using tinpot and he faces the right way (only when its instant) but hes looking down. Not at the object or hotspot. (I tried both)
Issue recreated - I thought you meant the opposite - that he spins correctly, but doesn't tilt the head. I will look to fix this for the upcoming v1.52a release.
I'm afraid I was mistaken - this works fine for me, so long as the Character: Face object Action blocks gameplay. Check that you have Wait until finish? checked in the Action, and the the ActionList's When running field is set to Pause Gameplay.
If all that's fine, how/when are you triggering the Action exactly?
It worked. I had it in run on background because I like to let the player fidget with the camera during cutscenes while only forcing them to look at objects intermittently. I guess I can restructure the scene a little bit. Again thank you for your time. You have made my day with this solution.
