Display a subtitle/conversation after a camera fadeout?

I have a camera fadeout happen, and then several lines of dialogue.  How can I have the dialogue/subtitle display still appear after a fadeout?

I have a workaround or 2, but wondering if there's a built-in solution?

    Once you've faded out, cut the camera to one facing a black square and fade back in.  You'll then be able to display speech and other menus as normal.
